BRATISLAVA - Saturday, A parachutist from Slovakia who just turned 33, was probably the luckiest man alive. After a jump from a plane as from an altitude of approximately 1200 meters (almost a mile) his parachute refused service.

Press office speaks of a miracle

Miraculously the man survived the free fall. He suffered a fractured pelvis among other broken bones and bruises, but he was not in danger of dying according to the national press office TASR.

He spiralled out of control when he jumped, which probably slowed down his fall. His wife saw the accident happen.

"we think he remembered his fall"

"He was in shock but we think he remembered his fall," a doctor who accompanied the man to the hospital in central Slovakia said.
