» Oracle doesn't support Oracle

Oracle is best know for their outstanding database products, but ever since October 2006 they're in the business of operating systems as well with a redhat enterprise clone called 'Unbreakable Linux'. So I thought it was time to checkout some real differences between Redhat and Oracle linux but what I found was astonishing.

Do you believe this?

Once the OS was installed I wanted to see how smooth it would be to run their database (10g Release 2) on their own OS, because that's pretty much it's purpose, right?

Wrong, apparently. Checkout this picture:

It says that the Oracle Database does not support the Oracle Operating System!

Now maybe it's just me, maybe it's been a long day day. but this was a fresh install, out of the box. Luckily I was able to fool the installation by changing the /etc/redhat-release file, and type in "redhat-3" so that he didn't know he was running on Unbreakable Linux. But how stupid is that!? Oracle does not support Oracle!
